Gisso (pronounced Ghee-Sue) has a PhD in Psychology and a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Gisso is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and board certified in tele mental health (TMH). Her experience includes individual, and group therapy focused on advanced trauma related to grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. She focuses on evidence-based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), emotionally focused individual therapy (EFIT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Using these modalities, she empowers her clients to explore their own strengths and resources, make informed decisions, and become motivated to make positive changes in their lives. Gisso aims to create a comfortable therapeutic environment for change and growth.
In addition to English, Gisso is certified to provide therapy in Farsi (Persian). In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, biking, traveling, jump roping, and spending time with family, friends, and her beloved spoiled dog.
