Gisso (pronounced Ghee-Sue) has a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grand Canyon University and is currently working on her dissertation to complete a PhD in psychology. Gisso is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is board certified in telemental health (TMH) and her experience includes individual and group therapy focused on advanced trauma related to grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. She focuses on evidence-based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), emotionally focused individual therapy (EFIT), and motivational interviewing. These modalities allow her to empower her clients to explore their own strengths and resources, make informed decisions, and become motivated to make positive changes in their lives. Gisso’s aims to create a comfortable therapeutic environment for change and growth. In addition to English, Gisso is certified to provide therapy in Farsi (Persian). In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, biking, traveling, jump roping, and spending time with family, friends, and her beloved spoiled dog.
