Dr. Amanda Keenhold is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing in Arizona since 2021. Amanda graduated from Grand Canyon University with her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) and received her doctorate degree in nursing (DNP) from The University of Arizona. She is board certified as a PMHNP through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is active in the nursing community belonging to the Arizona Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the International Association of Forensic Nurses. Amanda is passionate about providing quality comprehensive mental health services to adolescents and adults while being compassionate and culturally sensitive. Her extensive experience providing psychiatric mental health care has allowed her to build strong clinical skills which are enhanced by her natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. Amanda focuses on symptom reduction and overall wellness by using evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and patient preferences to individually tailor her care and treatment. She believes in treating the patient holistically, realizing that mental health is impacted by physical, environmental, cultural, spiritual, and neurological factors that differ with each patient. In her spare time, Amanda and her family like to enjoy all the outdoor activities that Arizona has to offer with its diverse climates. She is originally from Alaska and ventures back every summer for salmon fishing and to spend time with family and friends.
