After starting the installer, the screen appears blank or blurry.

According to Sun, computers that provide Direct3D screen enhancements can leave the screen blank or blurry with Swing applications.

If your app requires Java 1.5, then you can simply change the files with a plain text editor to make sure native installers start properly.

Be sure that JExpress is *not* running when you modify the files. The platform files are in the platforms subdirectory of your JExpress installation directory.

For example, for the native Windows installer, you'll change platforms/Windows/ to include this line:


If you also want your apps to start with the same switch, then start JExpress and add the switch to the JVM panel's "extra parameters" field.
